Welcome to US NavChart, your comprehensive navigation companion designed for both real-world VFR flight and flight simulation enthusiasts. This manual provides detailed instructions on how to leverage the app's features to enhance your situational awareness and flight planning.

1. Getting Started

Premium Access & Free Trial

US NavChart offers a premium experience with a 15-day free trial.

•Subscription: Access official FAA charts and simulator integration for just $3.00/month.

•Management: Subscriptions are handled securely via the Google Play Store. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings.

Permissions

To function as a real-world navigation aid, the app requires Location Permissions (Precise GPS). Your data is processed locally and is never shared or sold.

2. Map Interface & Controls

The main interface features a high-performance moving map with several interactive controls on the bottom-right:

•SEC (Sectional Chart): Toggle the official FAA Sectional Charts on/off.

•TAC (Terminal Area Chart): Toggle FAA Terminal Area Charts for high-density airspace regions.

•Orientation (TRK / N UP):

◦TRK (Track-Up): The map rotates to match your current direction of travel.

◦N UP (North-Up): The map remains fixed with North at the top.

•Center Button (Location Icon): Instantly re-centers the map on your current aircraft position.

•Help (Info Icon): Opens the online setup guide for simulator connections.

3. Flight Planning & Routing

You can create a flight plan directly on the map using long-press gestures:

Creating a Route

1.Set Origin: Long-press on your starting point and select "Set Origin".

2.Set Destination: Long-press on your target and select "Set Dest".

3.Add Waypoints: To add intermediate points, long-press the desired location and select "Add Interm WPT".

Managing Waypoints

•Remove Waypoint: Tap on any existing waypoint marker to see the "Remove Waypoint" confirmation.

•Clear Route: If a route is active, a red "X" button appears. Tap it to clear the entire flight plan.

4. Heads-Up Display (HUD)

The HUD on the top-left provides real-time telemetry and navigation data:

•Source Indicator: Shows your active data source:

◦GPS: Internal device GPS (Real-world flight).

◦FS: Microsoft Flight Simulator.

◦XP: X-Plane.

◦OFF: No data source connected.

•Flight Data:

◦HDG: Magnetic Heading.

◦ALT (FT): Altitude in feet.

◦SPD (KT): Ground speed in knots.

•Navigation Data (Visible when a route is active):

◦BRG: Bearing to the next waypoint.

◦DIST (NM): Distance to the destination in Nautical Miles.

◦ETA: Estimated Time of Arrival.

5. Simulator Integration

US NavChart can sync with Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) and X-Plane via a local network connection.

Setup Instructions

1.Download the Bridge: Visit vfrdirectbr.com to download the necessary Python Bridge for your PC.

2.Connect:

◦Tap the "FS" button in the app.

◦Enter the IP Address of your computer running the simulator.

◦Tap Connect.

3.Indicator: The HUD source will change to FS or XP once the connection is successful.

6. Flight Logging & History

Track your flights and save them for later review or sharing.

•Start Recording: Tracking starts automatically whenever a data source is active.

•LOG Button: Tap the "LOG" button to manage your sessions.

•Finish & Save: Within the Log dialog, tap "Finish & Save Session" to store your current track in the app's history.

•Sharing: You can export any saved flight (or your current active track) as a KML file, compatible with Google Earth and other GIS tools.

•Deleting: Swipe or use the delete icon to remove old sessions from your history.
